What is the difference between Sales Mix and Attachment?

< 1 min read

When looking at the Sales Module in Product Division, Product Category and Product Item, you will see two metrics: Sales Mix and Attachment. They may look alike, but they represent two different concepts.

  #

What is Sales Mix #

This metrics shows what percentage of your total sales every Product (be it Category, Division or Item) represents. The total sum of all single percentages must add up to 100% = total sales.

What is Attachment #

Conversely, the total sum of the percentages for the attachment metric does not add up to 100%. Attachment represents how often a product appears on a transaction.

In the example below, Turkey Club Sandwiches appeared on 15.2% of all transactions (15.2% of all transactions had Turkey Club Sandwiches attached to the cheque):

If you look at Sandwiches in the in the Sales Mix example instead, in the first image, you will see they only add up to 16.3% of total sales in terms of revenue.
